Seriously. Can ANYBODY out there really say that they’ve lost a large amount of weight without feeling hungry? I hear people, read articles that say eat when you’re hungry – but at this point, my body was so used to having so many calories – I’m gonna have to DEAL with hunger, right? Feels like torture and I know I’m not into that sort of thing! Ugh… I wonder when this feeling goes away…

I can only speak from my experience, but the hunger was definitely the worst in the first few weeks. After that, if I had breakfast, a snack (fruit or veggies), lunch, a snack (usually almonds and apple sauce) and dinner (keeping an eye on those portions), I was good. I just did this whole “recommitment” thing after maintaining for 3 months (and eating more) and had to suffer from hunger pangs for the past two weeks AGAIN. Today was the first day I wasn’t starving before lunch! I used to get hungry after dinner, too, but I did that whole “no eating after 7 thing” so I’d make green tea- sometimes iced and drink a couple big cups of that. Liquids can really fool your stomach into thinking it’s full…for a time at least. If I am really desperate, and I know dinner is coming or somethinga ( this one isn’t the best choice) I will drink a diet soda ’cause the fizziness makes me feel full!
You can do muscle through it! Good luck sista!
I was never hungry when I did low carb. Ever. I often had to convince myself to eat just for the sake of having more than 1 meal a day. Fat and protein are super satisfying .:)
HUNGER SUCKS!
I’m also still on my low carb kick (22 days today!) and I have NEVER this whole 22 days been the crabby whiny hungry monster. (Which I have been on EVERY OTHER DIET). But with no carbs you have to be creative in your food so you dont get bored. That’s my trick.
Do what works for you and DONT GIVE UP! Whenever I’m so tired and dont want to get up and go workout in the am, I just remind myself, “I’d rather be tired throughout my day and working towards skinny, than fat, gaining weight and probably still tired anyway…” doesn’t make a TON of sense, but hey, whatever works, right?
When I was trying the low cal/high workout program (which didn’t work at ALL for me), I was taking Jillian Michaels pills. They come in a blue bottle and are great at suppressing your appetite monster. Good luck to you!
I have to second the low carb thing. I realized how important protein is in losing weight. I need to replace carbs with protein again (of course not completely) but seriously, one ounce of cheese (0 carbs) made me feel sated!
In the beginning, after overeating for a while, I am hungry. But after about 3 days the intense hunger goes away.
The thing is, when I’m overeating, I don’t give myself a chance to ever feel hungry, you know? I shovel it in so much, I’m just always full. So actually feeling hungry feels WRONG at first.
But when I’m eating well, I can tell when I’m getting hungry, and I can eat good food that satisfies me before I get to the starving point.
